Pursuant to section 96 of the War Pensions Act 1954, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

Regulations

1 Title

  • These regulations are the War Pensions Amendment Regulations 2010.

2 Commencement

  • These regulations come into force on 1 April 2010.

3 Principal regulations amended
4 Travelling allowances

  • Regulation 44 is amended by omitting “$22.76” and substituting “$23.21”.

5 Schedule 6 amended

  • (1) Clause 1 of Schedule 6 is amended by omitting “$824.85”, “$978.79”, and “$206.20” and substituting “$841.02”, “$997.97”, and “$210.24” respectively.

    (2) Clause 2 of Schedule 6 is amended by omitting “$412.40”, “$489.38”, and “$206.20” and substituting “$420.48”, “$498.97”, and “$210.24” respectively.

6 Schedule 8 amended

  • (1) Clause 1 of Schedule 8 is amended by omitting “$16,921.22” and substituting “$17,252.88”.

    (2) Clause 2 of Schedule 8 is amended by omitting “$7,615.05” and substituting “$7,764.30”.

7 Schedule 10 amended

  • Schedule 10 is amended by omitting “$9.92” in each place where it appears and substituting in each case “$10.11”.

8 Schedule 11 amended

  • Schedule 11 is amended by omitting “$1,983.72” and substituting “$2,022.60”.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 April 2010, amend the War Pensions Regulations 1956 by increasing the following in accordance with an increase of 1.96% in the All Groups Consumers Price Index:

  • the rate of weekly travelling allowance:

  • the maximum rates of war bursaries payable to secondary school students and students of colleges of education, polytechnics, specialist colleges, universities, and wananga:

  • the maximum amounts of motor vehicle loans:

  • the weekly allowance payable to holders of certain specified decorations who are in receipt of war disablement pensions:

  • the annuity payable to holders of the Victoria Cross.
