Pursuant to section 2(2) of the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Act 2006, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order brings into force, on 1 April 2010, the provisions of the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Act 2006 that are not already in force. Those provisions are sections 3 to 27, 36 to 141, 146 to 171, 173 to 187, and Schedules 1 and 2.

The Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Act 2006 regulates, and ensures the competency of, persons engaged in the provision of sanitary plumbing, gasfitting, and drainlaying services. The Act repeals and replaces the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Act 1976.
