Ngāti Manawa and Ngāti Whare Claims Settlement Bill

Proposed motion to divide Bill into 2 Bills

Hon Christopher Finlayson, in Committee, to move as follows:

That the enacting words, clauses 1 and 2, Part 1, and Schedules 1 to 3 be a separate Bill, and that for the enacting words, clauses 1 and 2, and the Part 1 heading there be substituted the following enacting words and clauses:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title

  • This Act is the Ngāti Manawa Claims Settlement Act 2012.

2 Commencement

  • This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.

That Part 2 and Schedules 4 to 6 be a separate Bill, and that for the Part 2 heading there be substituted the following enacting words and clauses:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title

  • This Act is the Ngāti Whare Claims Settlement Act 2012.

2 Commencement

  • This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper divides the Ngāti Manawa and Ngāti Whare Claims Settlement Bill into 2 Bills. The Bills are the Ngāti Manawa Claims Settlement Bill and the Ngāti Whare Claims Settlement Bill.
